Quality Improvement Specialist; Full-Time; Days

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and document quality improvement activities in coordination with administrative, clinical and medical staff. Coordinate and facilitate Regional Quality Improvement activities.
  • Monitor and interpret standards, requirements and related documentation for relevant licensure, accreditation, regulatory and oversight entities for ongoing compliance. These include but are not limited to The Joint Commission (TJC), IL Department of Human Services Divisions of Alcohol and Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DASA, DMH), Managed Care Organizations (MCO).
  • Coordinate and document utilization review processes as required by oversight agencies.
  • Assist in coordination of activities for all licensure, accreditation, regulatory and oversight entity site visits. These include but are not limited to TJC, DASA, DMH and MCO.
  • Coordinate and document mandated reporting events, including but not limited to Office of Inspector General (OIG) Rule 50, Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), and DHS Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) mental health reporting.
  • Provide leadership in quality and compliance efforts through research, analysis, training, consultation, feedback and problem solving with clinical, medical and administrative staff.
  • Monitor and interpret confidentiality standards and assist to address related compliance matters. In the absence of Regional QI manager, act as the regional HIPAA Privacy Officer. Serve on the HIPAA & Corporate Quality Improvement committees. Train staff on HIPAA.
  • Assist in the development, preparation and dissemination of data collection, processing and reporting activities in support of QI and risk management functions. Assist with related data entry.
  • Participate in continuous review and development of organizational and departmental policies, procedures and operations.
  • Assist in coordination of activities that enhance organizational collaboration and efficiencies.
  • Incorporate Chestnut s treatment philosophies while performing duties and responsibilities.
  • Maintain and protect confidentiality and security of all organizational information gained in the course of performing job responsibilities including, but not limited to, salary, financial, and client information.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor s degree in healthcare, health information management, communications, medical, public administration or related field.
  • Professional experience in a behavioral health care or similar setting preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Experience with Internet and Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel and Word required.
  • Knowledge of general statistics and database query management experience preferred.
  • Satisfactory completion of Chestnut s background checking process.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
